What Causes Visible Veins And Itching In The Breasts?

Hello, I seem to have a few problems my breasts are really itchy recently and I have suddenly noticed big Blue veins have risen. I have also gone off food, my moods are unpredictable, I m going to the toilet more often and I m noticing an awful smell coming from my vagina. Before all these symptons i was told that i have recurring cysts on my ovaries but nothing to worry about, could it be related? please help!?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of itching over breasts, appearance of big blue veins, frequent urination, bad smell from vagina and past history of ovarian cysts.
All this history may be related to hormonal changes.
The itching over breast can be dermatitis secondary to hormonal changes and the big blue veins can be due to Mondor's disease. It is a rare and benign (noncancerous) condition more commonly found in women. Also called superficial thrombophlebitis, this condition is caused by inflammation of a vein in the breast or chest wall, making the vein visible under the skin and there is no specific treatment.
The hormonal changes also affect other things like frequent urination and foul smelling vaginal discharge.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult your Gynecologist.
Get urine and blood tests, particularly for hormones.
Proper per-vaginal examination can tell the problem and be treated according to the findings.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
