What Causes Vertigo When Diagnosed With TIA?

Eight weeks ago I had my second TIA in my right cerebellum. I don’t have any of the usual issues that predispose a stroke, e.g. blood pressure, artery obstruction, cholesterol, smoker, diet, lifestyle...they suspect A-Fib since I have a PFO but haven’t detected it yet. For the past week and a half I have had vertigo symptoms, not BPPV which I have had in the past. Is there a correlation between my cerebellar stroke and the vertigo. I am 68 years old and in good physical shape (although I am 3 years out from a diagnosis of Gillian-Barre). Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If you had a cerebellar stroke or TIA eight weeks ago, it ma have happened again, and cerebellar damage may justify vertigo.
I think you should wear a 24 hours Holter monitor, you should also get examined with a transesophageal ultrasound and you should be on blood thinners in order to get diagnosed and treated correctly.
Discuss with your Neurologist about these issues.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
