What Causes Valley Fever?

My 40 year old daughter has been diagnosed with Valley fever, her right foot red and swollen and then later both feet, after all the testing was done they finally diagnosed you re with Valley fever her feet are still swollen she is taking her medication a little trouble walking we don t know what to do can you direct us she does have an appointment with the specialist in September should I be worried doctors don t seem to be worried but since they pumped it was so much medications steroids being one of them would she is no longer taking but its been 2 days with the new medication and no change on her feet

Hello,

From your description, I am of the opinion that it is coccidioidomycosis aka valley fever. So Antifungal medications such as fluconazole and itraconazole are must, your daughter should not stop it. You can give up steroids in case of its side effects, but don't give up antifungal medications.
She will be alright and Hale and hearty quite soon.
