What Causes Vaginal Spotting While Using Canesten Pessary?

Hi, I put on a canesten pessary last night and I hv a spotting this morning.. is it fine, is it normal??? I used to put canesten pessary when I felt I need to.. like once every 3mos. Or every 6mos.. I have a history of a yeast infection, and sometimes I had a bad discharge.. so am just using it, wen I fet d smell is at worst.. and just to flush out some dirts..but it's my first time to experience this spotting..

Detailed Answer :
As a physician I would like to tell you that, you should not worry about the situation. This type of discharge occurs in many patients using Vaginal pessaries. This is because the plunger or the applicator may bruise the vaginal walls accidentally sometimes leading to spotting on second day.

So, I suggest that you should continue using the pessary as indicated in the paper inside Pessary box. I would also like to tell you that if the spotting does not stop 2-3 days after using pessary, you should visit your prescribing physician and have a internal colposcopic examination done to rule out any other causes of bleeding.
