What Causes Vaginal Spotting During Early Pregnancy?

I m 9 weeks pregnant user had a doctor apt a few days ago everything looked fine but before then I had some bleeding dark in color and went to the er and things were good my question is that when I wipe sometimes it s still a little dark brown discharge but smells a little funky should I be worried?

It is possible that you may have an infection present, this would cause the foul odor.

Bacterial vaginosis can occur in pregnancy and it is associated with an odor as well so it is possible that this is the source of your symptoms
It can be treated with topical medications.

Your doctor may need to do a swab to determine if this is the problem, if confirmed, then treatment can be started.

The most commonly used topical treatments are metrogel.

Clindamycin is also sometimes used as well.
