What Causes Vaginal Spotting During Early Pregnancy?
Hi, I just found out that I am pregnant, it has been about 6 weeks since my last menstrual period. After having intercourse today I noticed some very light spotting, should I go into an ER to get checked? I have read online that light spotting after intercourse while pregnant is fairly common and I don't have any cramping.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Most common source of spotting after intercourse is cervix ( the lower part of uterus). Even when cervix is healthy, vigorous sex can cause some bleeding. This mostly occurs when you have vaginal dryness or less vaginal lubrication. Also blood supply to cervix increases during pregnancy, so this is most probable cause of bleeding in you. Bleeding during early pregnancy Could also be a worrisome symptom & could mean a threatening miscarriage or miscarriage has taken place.
You should now visit a gynaecologist. An ultrasound would be required to rule-out the possibility of miscarriage. In case miscarriages has not taken place progesterone hormone would be given to prevent misscarriage.
Refer to a gynecologist Hope this helps
