What Causes Vaginal Spotting And Abdominal Cramps During 5th Week Of Pregnancy?

I am 5 weeks pregnant. Last Monday I started spotting with a tiny bit of cramps. I didn't bleed enough to wear a pad or panty liner. I only say blood when I wiped. I spotted and cramped for 6 days. Then on the seventh day it went away. Today is the ninth day and I have a terrible cold. I started to cough a little and I went to the washroom and wiped and saw a little more blood. Before I got pregnant, I was diagnosed with cervical erosion. Could this be causing the bleed and cramping? OR could I have miscarried? So confused!

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Vaginal spotting and abdominal cramps during early weeks of pregnancy are worrisome symptom & could mean a miscarriage or a threatening miscarriage. As you have previous history of cervical erosion, this might be reason of the vaginal spotting might be cervical erosion.
You should now visit a gynaecologist. An ultrasound would be required to rule-out the possibility of miscarriage. In case miscarriages has not taken place progesterone hormone would be given to prevent misscarriage.
