What causes vaginal spotting after intercourse?

Hi, i had intercourse with my boyfriend on sunday and during we noticed that the condom had split (due to it being slightly rough) and was inside of me. I instantly went to the bathroom to retrieve it and was successful. I was spotting lightly before hand but it seemed to be easing off. Since this has happened i have notice it has been slightly heavier. Is this something to worry about? I have no pains or tenderness at all and feel completely normal.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms seem to be related to Cervicitis. It is an inflammation of the mucosis in the cervix.

I suggest you do a colposcopy to confirm the diagnosis and visit your gynecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
