What Causes Vaginal Pain In Toddlers?

Hi, my 21month old toddler has been crying and touching her vagina saying it hurts and is crying non-stop at times. I change her nappy and check the area and it looks fine. I catch her itching it sometimes but other times nothing she just says it hurts. I have used canestin (the fungul creams) and barrier creams but nothing has helped. Even wen her nappy is dry she cries at times which leads to screaming. Can you please help? Worried mum.

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. It could be fungal infection as you have rightly pointed out, but, if there is fever it could as well be a urinary tract infection too. But i suggest you do a urine analysis as you have already sued fungal cream in vain. Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
