What Causes Vaginal Mucus Discharge Along With Abdominal Cramps While On Paragard IUD?

Hi i have a paragard iud and it has been in about 4 yrs now. I normally don t get my cycle til around 9-12 of each month but it just recently changed a few months ago. For about 1 week now i have noticed a wet bloody mucus discharge from the vagina and stomach cramps with light pressure down there when standing. I was wondering if it could have slipped out of place or is it normal?

When you get cramps in abdomen and bloody mucous discharge from the vagina the first diagnosis that comes to my mind is infection. The IUD could have got infected. Better rush to your gynaecologist and get checked. If infection is confirmed, Paragard IUD will be removed and you will be put on a course of antibiotics. This infection inside the uterus due to iud can even change the menstrual pattern also.
