What Causes Vaginal Discharge With Bad Odor?

I went to the doctor because I was having discharge and an vaginal odor. During my exam she notice that I have spots on my uterus, which she also called them lesions. I asked if it looked big or if it looked bad. She said that they were small spots and she gave me a full pelvic exam and tested for cervical cancer and std. She also treated me for gonnoreha, clamydia, and bacteria vaginosis while looking on line for the symptoms of these infections, I found that my symptoms were very similar to b.v. However I am very concerned about the spots on my uterus. This is scary, because I have a family history of cancer. Cervical, fibroid, prostate, and colon cancer. I also had the essure procedure done 8months ago. I have been experiencing lower abdominal pain off and on since the procedure. Do you know what these spots could be?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

According to your description the 'examination' you mentioned could be per vaginal examination. By clinical per vaginal examination we cannot see the uterus, only we can see upto the cervix. So according to your description I am thinking that your doctor might have noticed few spots on the vaginal mucosa and / or cervix. The possibities are strawberry spots like appearance can be seen on vaginal mucosa and cervix in trichomonas vaginalis infection. Sometimes cervical erosion or nabothian follicles due to chronic cervicitis can present as spots. As you have taken treatment for infection and also got tested for cervical cancer if the report is normal no need to worry. Fibroids are usually benign lesions and turning into malignancy is very rare, prostate is only related to males. If you are not having any gastrointestinal symptoms no need to worry about colon cancer. But you can take routine regular checkups.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
