What Causes Vaginal Bleeding While On Tamiflu, Mucinex And Tylenol?

I have had the flu (Influenza B) for the past 6 days. I am a 50 year old female that had a hysterectomy 10 years ago. The dr precribed Tamiflu, which I have been taking for the past 3 days along with Mucinex, Tylenol and lots of water. I am feeling better and the fever has been gone for 24 hrs, but I just experienced vaginal bleeding. It was very bright red, fresh blood. I haven t had intercourse in over a week. Could this be some sort of side effect to the Tamiflu? Or the combination of medications?

Hi, I think you should go for evaluation by a gynecologist. Get a pelvic examination done to rule out any local cause of bleeding. It can be a side effect of tamiflu due to thrombocytopenia, but till now no case of postmenopausal bleeding has been reported. So, better to rule out other causes also.
