Hi,

Intermittent spotting or bleeding what you are experiencing could be caused due to hormonal changes following insertion of Mirena coil.

Generally, such disturbances in the menstrual cycle could happen during the first two to three months following contraceptive insertions. It should subside gradually.

Since it is happening continuously, I would recommend you to consult Obstetrician for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
