What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During Post Menopausal Phase?

56 yrs post menopause, taking progesterone and Estriodol at 2mg each for four years. Just started bleeding as in period blood, stopped after a week of heavy and fresh red blood. Started again two weeks later with bright red blood and tissue and cramps. The change was from USA progesterone and Estrogen to Italian progesterone and Estriodol. They said it was same. Also very tired.

Hi, I think you should go for evaluation by a gynecologist. Get a pelvic examination done. Also get a ultrasound done to see the endometrial thickness. If it is more than 4 mm, you may need endometrial biopsy to rule out any other pathology. It can be due to atrophic vaginitis also. If bleeding is heavy, you can take some medicines like Tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding.
