What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During Intercourse?

Hi, I have a query, I have 8 month old baby and the last time I had sex was December 2015. Last night I had sex again and it bleeds. Why is that? Also, no one uses protection, what are the chances of getting pregnant? Shall I use plan b? I am not menstruating either. Thanks for your answer. xx

Hello,

Bleeding during sex can be unexpected and unnerving in equal measures - but there are a number of reasons this could be happening.

Firstly, it's important to say that if you do experience vaginal bleeding, you shouldn't just ignore it. Unexpected bleeding from any part of the body should never be ignored, and vaginal bleeding is no different.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Esmeralda Sera,
