What Causes Vaginal Bleeding During And After Intercourse?

hi, i recently went to see a doctor about bleeding during and after sexual intercourse. she took a smear (even though i am under 25) and varoius s.t.i tests. this is the third time i have seen a doctor and i don't seem to be getting to the route of the problem. i have already taken a chlamydia test which came back negative. the bleeding isnt light, its EXTREMELY heavy and can last from an hour or sometimes up to a week! and it never lightens up, its constantly heavy, about 3 times heavier than my period. a couple of years ago i was told i have a flamboyant hymen, but i had it cut. could this have anything to do with it? that is where i experience pain during sex too. i am also on the contraceptive injecton, could this be causing bleeding, even though it starts during intercourse? i also used to have irregular periods and was told it could of been endometriosis, but it was left. could this be it?

Hello,

You are having vaginal bleeding during and after intercourse, You have history of having surgery done for your hymen a couple of years ago. You are suggested to get clinically examined by your surgeon. Get a follow up per vaginal examination done to detect postoperative complication such as bleeding from the surgical wound. If so, you may need another surgery to fix the cause. Do not delay, delay may result in the worsening of the complications.

Avoid doing heavy work, strenuous exercise or walking too much. You are on contraceptive injection, changes in hormones may cause irregular and heavy bleeding. Get clinically examined by an OBGYN, get USG done to detect fibroid and endometriosis. If reports are positive you will be accordingly treated. Take home made food rich in iron, minerals and protein. You can also take supplements.

Get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
