What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Sex?

Hi so my bf and I were messin around and he entered half of his penis but there was no blood but after we finished by 5 minutes I had drops of blood and I kept bleeding like that for an hour so can that be an injury on the external part of the vagina or that means am no longer virgin PS I was on the last day of my period

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

1) Bleeding during intercourse or spotting may be due to vigorous sex, blunt trauma, vaginal infection or dryness (lack of lubrication), hormonal imbalance, endometriosis, cervical or uterine polyp etc.

2) Use proper lubrication during sex and maintain genital hygiene. Medicine like Tranexamic acid can be taken to arrest bleeding temporarily.

3) Lastly, I suggest you to consult with gynecologist if bleeding continues. You may need to undergo one ultrasound scan to detect uterine or cervical pathology (if any). Maintain genital hygiene. Good luck.
