What Causes Vaginal Bleeding After Menopause?

I have had several months of vaginal bleeding and at 65 years of age and over 20 years after menopause I was concerned. My doctor performed a D/C recently and now suggests that I get a hysterectomy and have my ovaries removed. I don t know that removing my ovaries is correct. Please give me your thoughts. I am a very healthy 65 year old woman. I run 2-3 times a week, 8 miles. Please advise.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you are menopausal then the ovaries are no longer working and they can be removed.
Post menopausal bleeding is concerning because it suggests that there may be an issue with the uterus.

You may need to speak to your doctor to get a full idea of the findings on D/C, this would be the reason for the suggested surgery.

I hope this helps
