What Causes Urine Test To Be Positive For Nicotine?
right before surgery my nicotine urine test came back positive and I do not smoke nor does anyone I hang out with . I hate smoking! How is this possible? BTW, nurse gave me one on the spot and it came out negative. I think it was one to test for cotinine. Thank you.

As with all diagnostic tests, there will be false positives, i.e., tests that are positive while in reality they are negative. I suggest you have another test for nicotine.
