What causes urinary incontinence during periods?

I am on my period and more urine is being soaked up by my tampons than blood. This is happening every month. My periods are very irregular and I am 46 yrs old. It is so bad that if I don t change every hour and half it goes through my clothes. It smells like urine on my clothes.

It would be best to be seen by your gynecologist for assessment and treatment.

Perimenopause can present in different ways. This is the time before menopause.
Some women have a decrease in the intensity or frequency of periods but others can have an increase, unfortunately. There are medications that can be helpful in relieving your symptoms.
