In the past few days I have experienced Bladder leaking and some slight pressure in my abdomen. I have no pain urinating and no blood in my urin. Not sure what is going on? I do drink a lot of water being that it is the only liquids I dink, no soda or juices. I am a healthy 58yr. old female who has an active lifestyle and exercises regularly. I am not overweight and don t have any health issues. I do take Thyroid meds. and Hormones but thats it. Hopefully you can help solve my problem?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Urinary incontinence is common along women after 50 and usually is caused by urinary infections or weakened pelvic floor. This is also a common and often embarrassing problem. If overreactive or incontinent bladder affects your daily activities, don't hesitate to see your doctor. For most people, simple lifestyle changes or medical treatment can ease discomfort. It is treated with specific medications, pelvic floor muscles exercises, electric stimulation of bihevioral treatment and in most cases this is adequate for incontinence control. If Cystitisis a cause as an bacterial infection then it must be treated with antibiotics..Surgical options are reserved for severe and intractable cases.
