What Causes Urge Incontinence?

I have been on 500 mg cipro 2 X day for five days for possible UTI which I have experienced previously in the past 6-8 months. Both previous episodes were immediately alleviated on this medication. However the urine sample came back with no specific bacteria for a UTI. As previously noted I have been on this med for 5 days. However the urinary feeling of urgency is still prevalent and after urinating it often feels as if I haven t finished. No fever, some chills and sweats but that could be because I feel older than dirt. Have a follow up appointment tomorrow but thought I would see who comes up with a good educated guess. Thanks for your help and time regarding this medical mystery of the day...

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Urge for passing urine could occur after getting treated for urinary tract infection for the following two reasons:
1. Inflammation and enlargement of prostate, if you are male, called as 'prostatitis'.
2. Inflammation of the urinary bladder called 'cystitis'.
Kindly get an ultrasound scan of the abdomen done and consult Urologist with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
