Tuesday I came down with a low grade fever, headache that lasted 2 days, nasal congestion, and a cough that produced light yellow mucus. Now am taking musinex dm , which is calming the cough, other symptoms have diminished am fatigued and I feel a sharp pain in my upper left lobe when I cough. Do you think I should go to urgent care? Thank you for your time and help. Dixie

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I think you may be suffering from a lung infection such as bronchitis or pneumonia. I think Mucinex us good and can work but is not enough to clear up the infection.

I believe you may be needing antibiotics. Using azithromycin or augmentin may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
