What Causes Unusual Weight Gain While On Cortisone Shots?
Have gained 4 lbs and added 3 in waist in last 8 weeks. Unusual for me. About 10 weeks ago hada medidose pk of predisone for Sinus infection and 2 weeks later had my 5th cortisone shot in thumb joint (osteoarthritis). Can I be experiencing too much cortisol? Cushing s? Will the symptoms subside after steroid leaves body? How long does it take? Should I be going to get a Cortisol level check?

if you are on some steroid and you get the weight, that is the commen side effect of it.
when the seroid will be withdrawn ,its side effect may gradually be relieved.
when one is on steriod for long term duration for certain illness,the withdrawal are not made sudden.usally it is stoped in tappering fashion eg.by reducing the dose gradually to prevent withdrawal side effects.
