What Causes Unusual Large Bruise On Inner Thigh?

I have a large black bruise on my inner thigh it s about 3 inches long and 1.5 inches wide but irregular shaped. It s not painful although it looks severe and it has only appeared today. I have not banged or hurt this area. I had surgery on 17.04.15 for perianal abscess which is still healing so I am recuperating and not doing as much as I would do normally and being careful with this area. I ve not taken any pain killers since a day or so post op and finished antibiotics 23.04.15. Is the bruise anything to worry about as I don t normally worry re such things but I am alarmed by the severity of the bruise without injury. Thanks.

I have assessed your description and think that problem is due to a condition in which such bruised may appear and then automatically fade away over a few days without leaving a permanent trace. This is due to an abnormal response to one's own Red Blood Cells.
The condition is not cause of concern and is self limiting.

Had it been due to antibiotics , then it would have shown a correlation with antibiotic usage and probably would have involved at multiple sites.
Plea do not worry and revert to me if you feel like clearing your doubts again.
