What Causes Unexplained Purple Bruising On Inner Thigh?

I ve been on cumadin for 12 years because of a severe blood clotting disorder. Right now I m on an alternating schedule of 10mg one day and 7.5 the next. Last night my inner thigh was sore in one spot, and when i took off my jeans and looked, I noticed a 3-4 inch dark black/purple bruise on my inner thigh, and it has a hard nodule in the middle. I didn t bump my leg on anything to cause the bruising. This has happened in the past, but never had a nodule in the middle. Is this something to be concerned about?

Hi

You seem to be developing bruises on minimal skin trauma. This might be suggestive of your increased bleeding tendency.
Since you are already on drugs for the same, you surely need to go and see your treating doctor and discuss regarding the need to decrease the dosage.
