What Causes Unexplained Hematoma In Forehead In A Child?

For the second time in the last month, my 5 year old son awoke this morning with an unexplained goose-egg on his forehead. Both times there appeared to be a mosquito bite on his head in the same vicinity. I am not sure if he is allergic to mosquito bites and has coincidentally been bitten twice in the same area, or if I should be concerned about a more serious condition?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If you are noticing bites then it is likely that the swelling is related to this. m

Some persons have a greater inflammatory and allergic response to mosquito bites than others so this may be the case for him.

Insect repellent should be applied to avoid any additional bites and if any do occur, using an antihistamine should help with resolution.

I hope this helps
