What Causes Uncontrolled Blinking In Eyes Post Cataract Surgery?

I recently had eye surgery for cataracts, which were removed. starting with the first day of the surgery, I have had constant uncontrolled blinking of both eyes. the surgeon said this would go away. but almost two months later this has not improved. very dark glasses does help some what. my vision is definitely better except for this blinking which is driving me nuts. what can I do for this?

1. Uncontrolled eye blinking (rapid blinking/ twitching) may occur after cataract surgery because of dry eyes, inflammation or eye pain and since eye is more sensitive to light (photophobia) after surgery thus eyelid spasm or constant blinking may occur.

PS. Eye twitching after cataract surgery is often annoying but temporary, thus treatment must be directed towards the source of irritation, but if it is persistent clinical consultation with an Ophthalmologist must be made.

2. Eye blinking may also occur due to associated anxiety, stress or fatigue after surgery thus adequate rest is necessary.
