What Causes Twitching Sensation In The Arms After Discontinuing Methamphetamine?
hi my friend has been doing meth and she hasnt done any today but i know she does it all week everyday. she said both her arms are numb and shes been twitching. i told her shes having withdrawels and she needs to quit. does she need to go to the hospital? what should i tell her? im trying to get her to stop using but i dont know what to tel;l her as i am not a dr. thank you c
Methamphetamine does not have the same withdrawal as alcohol, sedatives or narcotics and twitching and seizures are with alcohol or other sedative withdrawal and not methamphetamine. It is quite likely someone who takes one drug of abuse takes many others.
so, withdrawal shaking can lead to fatal seizures. It is common to have psychological withdrawal (heck, from fast food) which can lead to hyperventilation, numbness and shaking. Actually, withdrawal from fast food can also lead to fatal seizures but only if you are a diabetic on too much insulin. So, given that even fast food could lead to these symptoms before serious problems I couldn't say if someone needs a hospital just by description.
