This is suggestive of varicose vein and you should not be concerned. Varicose veins are enlargement of legs veins due to weakened vessel wall and insufficiency of vein valves. It is usually caused by long standing, obesity and genetic factors. Such veins break easily and hematomas may occur even after minor trauma. It should be treated as usual with ice compresses, resting, bandages with pressure, and elastic stockings. In severe cases it can be treated with surgery which is also a permanent solution then.
