What Causes Twitching Feeling In Abdomen?

Should I be concerned. I feel this odd sensation in my upper left abdomen right under my rib cage. When i push on it, sit, or lean forward in an odd position I can fee a pop that isn t painful. I also get a twitching feeling on the left side of my abdomen, and the left side is ever so slightly puffy ...most likely from my rubbing it because it just feels weird all the time. I ve also never had problems with indegestion, and within the past few days I seem to get bouts of it. I ve always had issue with what I believe to be IBS, but I have never had this problem before, and I m concerned that my spleen or something could be enlarged or something random could be wrong. I know I drink more caffeen than I should, and my diet hasn t been the best these past few weeks, but I ve had the same eating habits for a long time without this particular issue. I m wondering if it could be something serious, or something as minor as constipation and gas. I don t have any pain, just this annoying sensation, and the fear something is really wrong. I plan on calling the doctors office on Monday, but I didn t want to wait if it could potentially be an emergency situation that I m unaware of.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per the detailed description here, the issue sounds to be related to intestine colic from indigestion, digestive enzyme disturbances or gut flora related issue.

There is no need to rush to ER, rather take care to consume more liquids, high fiber diet with avoidance of spices, non-veg, junk foods till you consult your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
