What Causes Tremors In The Hands?

Hi my name is vanacy, I was in class and noticed I was excessively shaking and as I was taking notes I notices that my fingertips on my left hand were very blue. I initially thought this was related to my heart murmur that I was recently diagnosed with so I went to the health center here on campus and they checked my breathing and heart rate and said everything was fine in that aspect. They did notice the excessive shaking and blue fingers but they have never seen the type of coloration before on fingers so they couldn t really help. I am wondering if its my h pylori because of poor eating habits or maybe when I played basketball last night I over worked my body, I m not quite sure. Lastly I am feeling really weak and when I press in the middle underneath my ribcage it is a discomforting pain/feeling. Before going to the emergency room I d like to know if it seems necessary.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The bluish discoloration you have noticed in your fingers is called cyanosis and it happens due to the inadequate blood supply to the region which turns blue. You have mentioned that you were recently diagnosed with a heart murmur.

The tremors in your hands need further investigation. It may be due to a hormonal disorder like hyperthyroidism. You need to get an ECHO done to diagnose the underlying reason for the murmur. You should visit an ER and get yourself properly assessed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nazma.amman
