What Causes Tooth Pain And Redness On The Gums?

My son is detained in a facility and complaining of extreme front left tooth pain has extreme redness over the gums, ear pain , left back teeth pain and headache, he has already had two previous root canals done one on that tooth in question also the immediate tooth to the left of it. He concerned it may not be a bad tooth problem, could this be a sinus problem or something else? Thankyou

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain pain in teeth along with redness of gums and earache and headache can all be related to dental problems while can be due to sinus infection also..
At times deep infection in gums can also cause pain in teeth and radiating pain in ears and headache..

However sinus infection can also cause similar symptoms but there is commonly associated pain in cheek, nasal congestion and discharge, post nasal drip etc..

So to confirm and eliminate the cause you need to consult an Oral Surgeon and get him evaluated and a Panoramic x ray and if needed PNS vies x ray sinuses can be done for diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

As of now he can take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen and if pain is severe Tramadol can be taken..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
