What Causes Tonsil Stones?

Hi my daughter has been coughing up small little round mucus type balls that are either light brown or or grayish in color. She has had issues with her nose and allergies or post nasal drip for the past couple months. And it seems these just started. From what I can see this may be related to some kind a tonsil stones or something? But the doctor I just took her to to be seen said her tonsils looked fine And didn't see anything. She just coughed up another one today. They are extremely stinky. She is seven years old not sure what you think is it is.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain it seems that coughing up of small mucous type balls that are like stinking formations over the tonsils might be Tonsil stones or Tonsilloliths that are formed due to calcification of food particles or debris over the tonsil crypts..
It is a potent cause for infection and inflammation of tonsils and bad breath..
I would suggest you to remove the tonsil stones using a q-tip and in-order to reduce its formation you should do warm saline gargles..
Gargle with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water..
Always gargle with water after meals..
Limit intake of dairy products..
