Hi, Two weeks ago I hurt my ankle playing basketball, I went to the hospital and got an X- Ray and there was so break or frauture, the doctor said it might be ligment damage. Now I have been to physio 5 times and it is getting better but slowly. When I am at physio or my ankle is touched my toes getting a tingling feeling. What is this due from? Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
If your ankle pain is getting better then it means it is healing and there was not much damage. I want to ask few things, like are you able to walk or put weight on your ankle. If it is not possible then I would recommend you to get MRI of the ankle. It will show if the ligament damage is minor or bad. According to that we can plan if you need splinting or continue to have physiotherapy.
Also tell your physio to avoid too much massage as it can cause stiffness in ankle movement.
Use hot water fomentaion and keep your foot over pillow and do not keep it hanging for long time as it will cause increase in swelling.
