What Causes Toe Nail Infection?

tTHREE MONTHS AGE I HADAN INGROWN TOENAIL AND IT DID NOT HEAL RIGHT AWAY SO THE TOENAIL WAS REMOVED AND CHECKED AND FOUND THAT I HAD A STAPH INFECTION . I TOOK KEFLEX FOR 10 DAYS AND I WASNTSATISFIED, WENT FOR SECOND OPINION. IT WAS HEALED BUT RED AND TENDER, AND HE PUT ME ON ANOTHER ANTIOBIOTIC. IT LOOK ALOT BETTER AND DOES NOT HURT BUT THERE IS STILL SOM PINK AROUNG THE NAIL BED. WAS WONDERING IF I STILL HAD STAFF WOULD IT HURT? THANK YOU JANIE

Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to an ingrown nail.

You may require surgical removal of that nail. You may require antibiotics after consultation.

Along with that in case of fever, you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Maintain proper hygiene.
