Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I carefully read your question and would explain that his symptoms could be related to a metabolic disorder (adrenal gland dysfunction, thyroid dysfunction) or inflammation (including a chronic infection).

I would recommend performing further tests to investigate for the possible cause:

- complete blood count and sedimentation rate
- blood electrolytes
- cortisol plasma levels
- liver and kidney function tests

I recommend you to closely monitor his body temperature during the day and refer the values to his doctor.

Further tests may be needed if suspicions of a chronic infection are raised.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Best wishes,

Dr. Iliri
