What Causes Tiredness During Pregnancy?

Hi doctor, I am 8 weeks pregnant and am always tired all the time. Eating is the only activity I don't care tired of. This is my first pregnancy and I observe this exhausted feeling from the time I discovered I was pregnant, I was 4 weeks then. The tiresome feeling just wouldn't go away even if I sip an energy drink or coffee or do some walking. Please advise me what to do. Thank you.

It is completely normal to experience fatigue in early pregnancy. Small amounts of caffeine are safe in pregnancy and can hit an increased sense of energy, but you may have just an increased need for sleep as your body adjusts to pregnancy. Craving certain kinds of food is also completely normal. You should see a health provider for routine prenatal screening tests to rule out any medical problems and begin taking prenatal vitamins, if you haven't done so already, but in the meantime, it's just ok to accept you need more rest! Good luck!
