What Causes Tiredness And Fatigue?

i am tired all the time no energy and unmotivated to do anything. When I eat sugar I feel better and then sink back down with a thump. I am overweight and have hypopiturism and are on drugs for thyroid, cortisone and diabetes insipidus. I am just feeling worn out.

Hello,
Sorry to learn about your bothersome situation.
As you are diagnosed with hypopituitarism you should check some hormones regularly and have a detailed clinical examination in order to prevent over or under dosages of certain hormones.

When I see someone like you in my practice, I typically order the following blood tests in addition to a detailed physical examination:

CBC (Complete Blood Count, also known as Hemogram; includes Hemoglobin, WBC and Platelet counts)
Electrolytes (Sodium and Potassium in particular)
Fasting glucose level
HbA1c (Glycosylated Hemoglobin = your last 3 months' glucose average).
Liver function tests (SGOT , SGPT, Albumin, Bilirubin, Alkaline Phosphatase)
Kidney function tests (BUN, Creatinine)
TSH (checks your thyroid)
Free T4 (this too checks your thyroid)
25 hydroxy Vitamin D levels (ideal range 40 to 60 ng/ml = 100 to 150 nmol/liter)
Calcium level.
it will be a pleasure to help you further after the above mentioned results.
Wish you good health!
Regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
