What Causes Tiny Bumps On The Forehead?

Hi. My Daughter has a cough and rash on her forehead (tiny bumps) no fever, no itch no pain no other symptoms. Plays well, eats well and sleeps well. She has been taking Claritin for spring allergies and started on mucinex yesterday to keep her cough loose. I m puzzled by the tiny bumps on her forehead. The community pool just opened this past week so could it be the pool water?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

As per your case history, your daughter is suffering from Polymorphic light eruption.

My treatment advice is:

1. Avoid sun exposure and use a good sunscreen lotion with SPF more than 30.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic plus steroid cream like Fusiderm-B cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral steroid taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
