What causes tinnitus while suffering from hypertension?

Hello, I m a 54 yo female with high blood pressure. I have been experiencing a feeling of bubbles on the left side of my head, towards the back. It doesn t hurt, just bothers me. I am also having a sound like wind blowing in my right ear. Could these symptoms be related? What might be causing them? Thank you.
