General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

These palpitations occur at rest or after doing physical activities? If it occurs even during rest, you need to seek emergency medical advice.

If not, then take appointment of cardiologist, who will do ECG and if required echocardiography to check for cardiac valvular pathology or other abnormalities.

However, it is also possible that stress, anxiety, excess consumption of coffee or nicotine or cough medication containing pseudoephedrine can also causes palpitations. So, it is better to rule out the cause of it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
