What Causes Tinnitus And Hearing Loss?

I have been experiencing right sided ringing and hearing loss for two weeks. I had a sore throat with mucous for about 4 days before the hearing loss and ringing. Two weeks ago I experienced ear pain which ocurred during the night and was very painful and the pain radiated down my neck. The strong pain resolved the next morning. I started taking Tylenol cold medicine for my symptoms. I waited 1 week before seeing my primary care provider because I thought my syptoms were viral. I sae my primary care provider 1 week ago and was diagnosed with a sinus and ear infection. I have been on antibiotics for 1 week. The ringing and hearing loss seem to be increasing instead of resolving with the antibiotics. I no longer have a sore throat or mucous just the continued right ear issues. Could these symptoms be a ruptured eardrum that did not get diagnosed? I have not had any drainage?
