What Causes Tinnitus After Surgery For Sinusitis?

has sinus surgery and immediately got tinnitus and all s/sx of patulous Eustachian tube...have gone back for 6 post-op appointments and doctor is spinning his wheels. I think he is afraid to say he was too aggressive with the surgery and didn t properly test ear problems first that were present prior to surgery but much more mild.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You had been examined before surgery. Tinnitus that you are experiencing is not because of sinusitis. Sometimes post surgery abnormal pressure in the middle ear gets built up (due to fluid retention in the middle ear & auditory tube blockage occurs) and hence tinnitus that you are experiencing. Visit ER your middle ear needs to be examined, you need medications to prevent the spread of infection & complications. Do not neglect as it may affect your hearing, get audiometry test done.
