What Causes Tinnitus After An Ear Injury?

I ruptured my right eardrum about 13 months ago. My hearing has mostly returned, but not fully. I also have a constant ringing and occasional popping in that ear. I am wondering if it is safe for me to go skydiving, as I am worried about the pressure effects that the rapid altitude change might have on my eardrum.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You should get your ear drum checked by a GP or ENT specialist first. Also it needs to be inspected why you are having the popping sensation and ringing. It can be due to narrow tube that connects ear to nose. My advice don't go for skydiving before an inspection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ankit
