What Causes Tingling Sensation With Pins And Needles In Right Arm?

Hello Doctor, Over the last moth or so I have been experiencing a tingling or needles and pins feeling in my right arm primarily and at times in my left arm. It seems that this occurs alot at night when laying in bed. I will also feel it slighly during the day if I have my arm bent in a certain position. I have been told by a chiropractor that it is probably a pinched nerve in the neck or shoulder area. Is this a possible cause? My e-mail is YYYY@YYYY . Thank you.

Thanks for posting on HCM
The neck is a region with many nerves.A compression or irritation of any one will give such symptoms to all parts to which the nerve leads.A pinched nerve in neck is possible cause(Cervical neuropathy).Other medical conditions that may give you such presentation may include:
-Other neuropathies like MS
-Diabetic neuropathy
-Ionic imbalances
-Vitamin B12 deficiency
I will suggest you see the Doctor for examination.If need be, work-ups may be requested confirm diagnosis.Tests like MRI or CT scan of neck, serum electrolytes, fasting blood sugar, vitamin levels, liver and kidney function test may be requested depending on the diagnostic orientation of the Doctor.
In the mean time, good diet with enough vegetable, vitamin B complex, and physiotherapy may help.
