Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Tingling Sensation Throughout The Body?
I suffer from tingling throughout my body from neck to extremities when I lie down. it s so persistent at night it wakes me up. An episode is often followed by sweating. This condition has gone on for years. My dr. doesnt seem to have an answer for me. Do I need a rheumatologist, a neurologist or what?
In my opinion, you should get done Sugar estimation, vitamin B12 level and thyroid function test to rule diabetes, vitamin B12 deficiency and hyperthyroidism as all these can cause similar symptoms. If all these are normal then get done ECG and 2D echo to rule out heart diseases because heart diseases can cause night time sweating.
If all reports are normal, possibility of stress and anxiety related symptoms is more likely. So consult psychiatrist and get done counselling sessions. Try to identify stressor in your life and start working on its solution.
You may need anxiolytic drugs (Propranolol and Flunarizine combination) too.Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Avoid stress and tension, be relax and calm but first rule out other causes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar,
