What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Left Leg?

I suddenly for two days now I have had really severe painful tingling in my left leg, the first time was the thigh only, today it was the whole leg. It didn t last more than a few seconds. I do have back problems, the last x-ray in December showed arthritis and scolosis. I do have other health issues. I am visiting out of state so I don t have any reports or tests with me.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Very likely this is sciatica pain which is pain related to nerve strain. It can happen at the level of the back or on the way down the leg but in all cases the patient feels this pain or tingling going down the leg.

Having problems with your back favors problems with the nerves that come out from the spine. Having some ibuprofen and paracetamol and seeing a physiotherapist might be helpful to you.

I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards,
