What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Ear?

I am a nurse practitioner in corrections in a work camp without ready access to an MD-just discovered your website. Today I saw a 32 yo m with 6 yr h/o gnawing or tingling sensation deep rt ear. Also has multiple episodes (few seconds) dizziness/ataxia/room spinning daily. Some improvement initially with Flonase 6 years ago. Antivert no help. Seen by ENT 6 years ago. He wanted MRI, etc. This was denied. Some cerumen but TM clear bilaterally. Rt turbinate boggy. Neuro exam in tact. Doubt VB TIA. I m not smart enough to have a good differential on this. Problem this long-standing likely not life-threatening. I would appreciate any input you could give me. Many thanks, Dennis Butler CRNP

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Dear As you mentioned he has visited an ENT specialist about 6 years ago which asked for a MRI, it seems he might be having something related to inner ear which is resulting in vertigo and it could be having cervical spondylosis where bone chip might be pressing the inernal labyrinthing artery causing TIA, need to be investigated
