General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If you have frequent and strong cough, this electric shock feeling in your chest area, can be related to nerve compression from the pressure applied locally in the spine or from muscle spasm.

You have to treat cough to prevent further damage of the nerves and muscular spasms. Also, I suggest you to start physical therapy sessions. If the cause of your upper esophageal congestion is gastroesophagel reflux, you should take Omeprazol once daily in the morning 30 minutes before breakfast for one month. Try to eat frequent, small meals, avoid fried and processed food.

If the electric shock feeling in chest persists after treatment I suggest you to consult a doctor for a physical examination, and further treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
